Mr. Y, National Security and the America of Tomorrow

I’m absolutely thrilled to have read the essay I just finished.  People talk about it in casual conversations and many of us think it regularly, but someone has finally written about the need to instigate an encompassing and introspective policy change at home which reevaluates America’s role, reputation and priorities in the international arena.

This article, written by two of Adm. Mike Mullen’s (Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff) senior advisers, calls for us as Americans to reexamine the best ways to protect our future.  It is really just an ideological framework for the notion that it’s time for us as Americans to take a hard look at the man in the mirror and examine where we want him to stand in 2050, but damn is it good to see important people writing it.

I would highly recommend reading this, particularly the first 12 pages or so.  Questions or comments on it, throw them up on the comments section below and let’s start a discussion.
